These tests are for screening. A result is not a diagnosis: only a psychiatrist or psychologist can make one, after talking with you.
Your answers are scored on this device and never sent. Only your result is saved, with the email address you confirm.
Confirm your email address
Before the test we send a 6-digit code to your email address. Your result is saved with it, so that our team can help you if you wish. The email with the code contains no health information.
Below are words that describe different feelings. Thinking about the last two weeks, mark how strongly you have felt each one.
Choosing an answer takes you to the next question. You can go back at any time.
Your result
Positive feelings
This score shows how often and how strongly you have felt positive emotions such as interest, eagerness, energy and resolve; the higher the score, the more present these feelings have been. A clear drop in positive feelings that lasts for weeks can be a sign of exhaustion, stress or depression; if you notice such a change, it is worth talking to a professional.
Negative feelings
This score shows how much you have felt unpleasant emotions such as distress, fear, irritability, guilt and shame; the higher the score, the stronger these feelings have been. If negative feelings stay high for a long time and affect your daily life, we suggest seeing a psychiatrist or psychologist.

Take your result as a rough guide, not a diagnosis. How you feel over time, and a conversation with a specialist, tell much more than a questionnaire.
Talk it through with a specialist
If your result worries you, or you would like to talk it through, our psychiatrists can review it with you, free and without obligation.

About this test
The PANAS measures mood on two independent dimensions: positive feelings, which reflect enjoyment and energy, and negative feelings, such as stress, fear and anger. It lists 20 words and takes about 3 minutes. You receive two separate scores from 10 to 50; there is no diagnostic cut-off, and the result is a summary of your mood.
