Costs and payment

Every plan comes with a written estimate in USD, EUR or GBP. It lists what is included — such as consultations, tests, the hospital stay and interpreter support — and what is not, such as flights. There is no charge for the coordination service.

Insurance

We can contact international insurers for pre-authorisation. Ask your coordinator whether your policy covers treatment abroad.

For families

Many inquiries come from relatives. You can contact us on behalf of a family member. For adults, we need their consent before we share medical details or plan admission.

Good to know

Questions families often ask

General

Can international patients receive treatment at NPİSTANBUL, and is inpatient psychiatric care available?
Yes. NPİSTANBUL offers assessment and treatment services for international patients. The International Patient Team assists with appointment coordination, medical report reviews, treatment planning, and communication throughout the process. Inpatient psychiatric treatment is also available following specialist evaluation for cases requiring intensive assessment, stabilization, medication management, structured therapy, or 24-hour medical support.
How can I request an evaluation, can medical reports be sent prior to travel, and are online consultations available?
Patients can request an evaluation by filling out the contact form or reaching the International Patient Team via WhatsApp or phone. Sending available medical reports, diagnoses, medication lists, and test results before traveling helps our team match you with the appropriate specialist. Additionally, online psychiatric consultations may be available depending on physician availability, patient location, clinical situation, and relevant medical regulations.
How quickly can treatment begin, and can family members contact the hospital on the patient's behalf?
Appointment availability depends on the specialist's schedule, the patient's clinical needs, and whether care is inpatient or outpatient. In urgent or complex cases, our team reviews the situation to advise on the earliest appropriate date. Family members or caregivers may contact the International Patient Team to request information and help coordinate an evaluation; however, appropriate patient consent may be required for detailed medical discussions or access to confidential records.
Which languages do you speak?
Coordinators and interpreters support English, Arabic, Russian, French and Turkish, and we can arrange other languages on request.

Costs and payment

How are treatment costs determined, is the first consultation free, and are patient details kept confidential?
Treatment costs depend on the patient's condition, the type and duration of treatment, inpatient or outpatient requirements, and recommended diagnostic tests. A personalized cost estimate is provided after reviewing your medical information. An initial coordination call with the International Patient Team to understand your needs may be provided free of charge; however, specialist consultations may incur a fee, about which you will be clearly informed prior to booking. All patient information, medical records, and treatment details are strictly protected in accordance with privacy regulations and shared only with authorized healthcare professionals involved in your care.
Do you charge for the medical review or coordination?
No. The first medical review of your reports and the coordination service are free of charge.
Do you work with international insurance companies?
Yes. Our international office prepares the documents your international insurer or assistance company needs, contacts them for you and obtains their payment guarantee.

Travel and stay

Do you help with visas and travel?
We provide an official invitation letter for your visa application and arrange your transfers between the airport, your hotel and the hospital; an air ambulance can also be organised if needed. Your coordinator can also advise on flights and accommodation.
Can a family member stay with me?
Yes. Companion arrangements depend on the type of treatment; your coordinator will explain the options for your plan.
What if my treatment lasts longer than my visa allows?
Turkish consulates issue visas for medical treatment and for accompanying persons. If your treatment in Türkiye will last longer than your visa or visa-free stay, you can apply online through e-İkamet for a short-term residence permit for medical treatment before your permitted stay ends, then attend an appointment at the provincial migration office. The application needs a medical report showing your illness and the expected length of treatment. Your coordinator will explain the documents.

Treatment

Which mental health conditions are treated at NPİSTANBUL, and are specialized treatments such as treatment-resistant depression therapy and Deep TMS available?
NPİSTANBUL evaluates and treats a wide range of psychiatric conditions, including depression, anxiety disorders, OCD, bipolar disorder, psychotic disorders, addiction, ADHD, trauma, and sleep disorders. For patients with treatment-resistant depression who have not responded sufficiently to previous medications or therapy, comprehensive reassessment is performed, offering medication optimization, psychotherapy, Deep TMS, ECT, Therapeutic Drug Monitoring, and pharmacogenetic testing. Deep TMS is provided to eligible patients following a clinical evaluation by a psychiatrist.
How long will I need to stay in Istanbul?
It depends on the treatment. Each programme page shows the usual length of stay, and your written plan gives a range for your case.
What happens after I return home?
At discharge you receive your discharge summary, test results and a fit-to-fly report in English, with a follow-up plan. Online sessions can continue with the same team, and we can share information with your local doctor.

Privacy

Will anyone know I was treated at NPİSTANBUL?
No. We only share information with the people treating you and never confirm that someone is a patient without their permission.
How are my medical reports protected?
Reports are stored encrypted on secure servers, are accessible only to the clinicians and coordinator handling your case, and are deleted when no longer needed.

Tell us what is happening. We will help you plan the next step.

A medical review of your reports is free and does not commit you to anything.
