These tests are for screening. A result is not a diagnosis: only a psychiatrist or psychologist can make one, after talking with you.
Your answers are scored on this device and never sent. Only your result is saved, with the email address you confirm.
Confirm your email address
Before the test we send a 6-digit code to your email address. Your result is saved with it, so that our team can help you if you wish. The email with the code contains no health information.
Indicate how well each statement describes how you have felt since the earthquake by choosing the most suitable option.
Choosing an answer takes you to the next question. You can go back at any time.
Your result
Low level of trauma
Your answers suggest that the earthquake has affected you to a low degree. Feeling fear or unease now and then after such an event is natural; if the symptoms grow or do not ease within a few weeks, you can consult a professional.
Moderate level of trauma
Your answers suggest that the earthquake has affected you moderately and that you are in the range the authors of the scale describe as the threshold of being traumatised. Protecting your sleep, your daily routine and your ties with people close to you helps; if the symptoms last more than a few weeks or make daily life hard, we suggest seeing a psychiatrist or psychologist.
High level of trauma
Your answers suggest that the earthquake has affected you strongly. We recommend making an appointment with a psychiatrist or psychologist soon; effective treatment and support exist for symptoms after trauma.
Total score
out of 100
Take your result as a rough guide, not a diagnosis. How you feel over time, and a conversation with a specialist, tell much more than a questionnaire.
Talk it through with a specialist
If your result worries you, or you would like to talk it through, our psychiatrists can review it with you, free and without obligation.

About this test
Besides heavy physical damage, an earthquake can cause serious psychological effects such as fear, shock, helplessness and anxiety. This scale looks at how much the earthquake has affected your sleep, behaviour, feelings and thoughts. It has 20 items and takes about 4 minutes. Scores range from 20 to 100; a higher score means a higher level of trauma, and the result alone is not a diagnosis.
