About

Seren Doğantekin was born in Istanbul and studied foreign languages in the United Kingdom. She graduated in psychology from Üsküdar University with high honours in 2018. A merit scholarship then took her into the university's Clinical Psychology master's program, which she also completed with high honours; her thesis was "An Examination of the Relationship Between Smartphone Addiction, Attachment, and Self-Compassion."

For about three years as an undergraduate she volunteered with the Turkish Education Volunteers Foundation (TEGV), and she interned at the Üsküdar Guidance and Research Center (RAM), Tuzla İSEM and the Bostancı Nezih Nursing Home. During her master's she worked with children and families at a private counseling center and completed clinical internships at Erenköy Hospital for Mental and Nervous Diseases and NPİSTANBUL Hospital.

Training

Her therapy training covers schema therapy, cognitive-behavioural therapy, play therapy, EMDR, family counseling, mindfulness-based cognitive therapy and eating disorders. In assessment she is trained in the Rorschach test, the Thematic Apperception Test (TAT) and its children's version, the Theory of Mind test, the Moxo test, the MMPI and psychometric tests for children.

Ms. Doğantekin joined NPİSTANBUL Hospital as a clinical psychologist in March 2022.
