These tests are for screening. A result is not a diagnosis: only a psychiatrist or psychologist can make one, after talking with you.
Your answers are scored on this device and never sent. Only your result is saved, with the email address you confirm.
Confirm your email address
Before the test we send a 6-digit code to your email address. Your result is saved with it, so that our team can help you if you wish. The email with the code contains no health information.
Answer each question Yes or No, thinking about your own situation.
Choosing an answer takes you to the next question. You can go back at any time.
Your result
Strong indication of dyslexia-type difficulties
You answered 'yes' to most (7 or more) of the 12 items that best distinguished adults with dyslexia. This is a strong indication of dyslexia-type difficulties, but a checklist cannot diagnose dyslexia. An assessment by a specialist, such as a neuropsychologist or a psychologist experienced in learning difficulties, can clarify the picture and show what support would help.
Signs of dyslexia-type difficulties
You answered 'yes' to 9 or more questions. In Vinegrad's study, 90% of adults answered 'yes' to no more than 8, so your result points to a dyslexia-type difficulty. A specialist assessment can clarify the picture.
No clear indication
You answered 'yes' to 8 or fewer questions, which is within the range of most adults. If you have ongoing difficulties with reading, writing or numbers, you can still talk them over with a specialist.
- Total number of 'yes' answers
- out of 20
- 'Yes' answers on the 12 most telling items
- out of 12
Take your result as a rough guide, not a diagnosis. How you feel over time, and a conversation with a specialist, tell much more than a questionnaire.
Talk it through with a specialist
If your result worries you, or you would like to talk it through, our psychiatrists can review it with you, free and without obligation.

About this test
Dyslexia is a neurodevelopmental learning difficulty that makes reading and writing harder to learn even when intelligence is average or above. This checklist asks 20 questions about reading, writing, sequencing and number difficulties linked with dyslexia in adults and takes about 3 minutes. The result suggests whether a specialist assessment might be useful; it is not a diagnosis.
