These tests are for screening. A result is not a diagnosis: only a psychiatrist or psychologist can make one, after talking with you.
Your answers are scored on this device and never sent. Only your result is saved, with the email address you confirm.
Confirm your email address
Before the test we send a 6-digit code to your email address. Your result is saved with it, so that our team can help you if you wish. The email with the code contains no health information.
Read each statement carefully and mark how far you agree or disagree with it. Please do not leave any statement out.
Choosing an answer takes you to the next question. You can go back at any time.
Your result
No marked autism-spectrum traits
Your score is below the limit (32) that the authors of the scale proposed for a clinically meaningful level. The sub-scale scores may show which areas you find harder; if difficulties with social relationships or communication affect your life, you can talk them over with a professional.
Marked autism-spectrum traits
Your score is at or above the limit (32) that the authors of the scale proposed for a clinically meaningful level of autism-spectrum traits. This is not a diagnosis; if these traits cause difficulties in your life, we suggest seeing a psychiatrist who assesses autism in adults.

Take your result as a rough guide, not a diagnosis. How you feel over time, and a conversation with a specialist, tell much more than a questionnaire.
Talk it through with a specialist
If your result worries you, or you would like to talk it through, our psychiatrists can review it with you, free and without obligation.

About this test
The Autism-Spectrum Quotient (AQ) looks at traits linked to the autism spectrum in adults of average intelligence, in five areas: social skills, switching attention, attention to detail, communication and imagination. It has 50 items and takes about 10 minutes. Scores range from 0 to 50; the result is meant to increase your self-awareness and does not by itself make a diagnosis.
