About
Clinical psychologist Hüseyin Yazıcı, born in Istanbul in 1995, earned his bachelor's degree in psychology at Üsküdar University in 2019. In the same year he enrolled in the Clinical Psychology master's programme at Istanbul Aydın University, and in 2022 he graduated with honours. His thesis explored how the severity of obsessive-compulsive disorder relates to body image and self-esteem in university students (“An Investigation of the Relationship Between Levels of Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder and Body Image and Self-Esteem Among University Students”).
Clinical training
Once he had finished the second year of his undergraduate degree, he started a clinical internship at the NP Feneryolu Medical Center, supervised by clinical psychologist Cengiz Demirsoy. From 2017 to 2021 he stayed on there as an assistant psychologist, taking part in psychotherapy sessions for clients with obsessive-compulsive disorder, social anxiety disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, panic disorder and depression.
In the spring term of his third undergraduate year, as part of the Clinical Psychology II course, he joined the psychiatry rounds held at NPİSTANBUL Brain Hospital by Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan, Prof. Dr. Hüsnü Erkmen and Prof. Dr. Aslıhan Dönmez, observing clinical practice at first hand.
Military service
From March 2023 to February 2024 he completed his one-year national service as a specialist clinical psychologist and reserve officer. He was posted to the Guidance and Counseling Center of the 4th Border Battalion, 2nd Border Regiment, 39th Mechanized Infantry Brigade in Reyhanlı, Hatay, where he offered psychological counselling to military personnel and led training sessions. He was discharged in February 2024.
He joined NPİSTANBUL Hospital as a clinical psychologist in March 2024 and continues to practise there.
