About
Gözde Yüksel earned two undergraduate degrees at the same time from Üsküdar University, in Psychology and in Child Development (double major). Straight afterwards she completed two master's programs in parallel, the thesis-based program in Addiction Counseling and Rehabilitation at Üsküdar University and the Clinical Psychology program at Istanbul Esenyurt University, qualifying as a specialist in both fields.
Her addiction counseling thesis was "An Investigation of the Relationship Between Emotion Regulation Difficulties, Impulsivity, and ADHD Symptoms in Patients Diagnosed with Addiction," and her clinical psychology research study was "A Review of Emotion Regulation Difficulties in Various Addiction Groups." While collecting her thesis data, she worked as a researcher in the AMATEM (addiction treatment) unit of NPİSTANBUL Hospital.
Internships and training
Besides internships in psychology, child development and addiction at NPİSTANBUL Hospital, Ms. Yüksel trained at the Tohum Autism Foundation, Validebağ Science High School, Erenköy Mediha Turhan Tansel Special Education School, the Bayrampaşa Day Care Center of the Ministry of Family and Social Services (National Internship Program) and YEDAM. She has also completed placements at various institutions of the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of National Education (MEB) and the Ministry of Family and Social Services (ASHB).
Her training includes cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), Rorschach, TAT, Moxo, EMDR, Denver-2, MMPI, Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA therapy), Filial Play Therapy, sign language and Motivational Interviewing techniques. She studied English at the Emerald Cultural Institute.
Since 2024 she has also seen clients at her own office in Istanbul. She works as a Clinical Psychologist in the AMATEM unit of NPİSTANBUL Hospital.
