Clinical psychologist Gizem Karpat Başar is a graduate of Saint Benoît French High School in Istanbul. She went to France to study medicine for two years at the Université de Montpellier 1, then moved to the Université Paul Valéry, also in Montpellier, where she took a bachelor's degree in psychology. Her master's studies at Üsküdar University were in neuroscience and clinical psychology.
Both clinically and academically, she has concentrated on personality structures, mood disorders, impulsivity, OCD, different forms of addiction and neuroscience-based approaches. She works as a clinical psychologist at NPİSTANBUL Hospital.
