These tests are for screening. A result is not a diagnosis: only a psychiatrist or psychologist can make one, after talking with you.
Your answers are scored on this device and never sent. Only your result is saved, with the email address you confirm.
Confirm your email address
Before the test we send a 6-digit code to your email address. Your result is saved with it, so that our team can help you if you wish. The email with the code contains no health information.
Choose “True” if a statement applies to you and “False” if it does not; answer the last two questions “Yes” or “No”.
Choosing an answer takes you to the next question. You can go back at any time.
Your result
Below the screening threshold
Your total score is below the screening threshold (15/16) set in the Turkish validation study of the questionnaire. This suggests that symptoms linked to borderline personality organisation are not prominent. If you are struggling with your feelings, your relationships or your sense of who you are, you can talk to a specialist.
At or above the screening threshold
Your total score is at or above the screening threshold (16) set in the Turkish validation study of the questionnaire. This is not a diagnosis, but we recommend that a psychiatrist assesses what you experience in areas such as mood swings, relationships, identity and impulsivity. Effective treatments, above all psychotherapy, are available for these difficulties.

Take your result as a rough guide, not a diagnosis. How you feel over time, and a conversation with a specialist, tell much more than a questionnaire.
Talk it through with a specialist
If your result worries you, or you would like to talk it through, our psychiatrists can review it with you, free and without obligation.

About this test
The Borderline Personality Inventory asks about experiences linked to borderline personality organisation, such as an unstable sense of identity, primitive defences, fear of closeness and difficulty telling what is real. Marking the 53 statements true or false takes about 10 minutes. The result is a screening result; a diagnosis can only be made in a psychiatric assessment.
